Maison Margiela MM6
Gorilli is proud to add another brand to its portfolio: MAISON MARGIELA MM6.
Martin Margiela is a Belgian fashion designer, and founder of fashion house Maison Margiela. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp) in 1979, a year before the Avant-garde fashion collective the Antwerp Six.
Between 1997 to 2003 he was creative director of the Hermès women's line. Throughout his career, Margiela maintained a low personal profile. He never had his picture taken and remained backstage after his shows. Maison Martin Margiela's ultradiscreet trademark consists of a piece of cloth with the numbers 0-23.
Revolting against the luxurious fashion world the concept of deconstruction (also embraced by Rei Kawakubo) is important for the understanding of Margiela's fashion statement.
In October 2014, John Galliano was appointed as creative director of Maison Margiela, replacing Margiela himself. Recently Margiela also worked with Kanye West on his Yeezus tour.
MM6 is the exclusive women’s line by Maison Margiela.
